Omg, higher rejection rate does not necessarily equate to “better academics.” People look for a lot of things in a school- campus life, job and grad school placement, geography, sports, Greek life, parties, gender ratio, cost and aid. Pure academics are probably pretty far down the list. |

You think Tulane isn't preppy? |
| No, Tulane is not preppy. At all. |

Tulane. There is really nothing unique about Richmond. Tulane has great academics and a vibe you can’t really get anywhere else. Visit and you will get why it is so popular.
I disagree that Richmond student body is wealthier than Tulane. Both schools are filled with extremely wealthy kids. |
Not for most parents. |
| I'm not thrilled with the gender balance at either school. Would prefer it be more even. |
Oh please. Tulane admits anyone with a pulse in the ED round and then spams the dog crap out of every high school kid in the country to generate a bunch of applications they can reject during regular decision. It's all a game. 68% early decision acceptance rate! Yeah, there's some selectivity. |
But the wealth isn’t on display in the same way at Tulane as it is at Richmond. The cities and student bodies have completely different vibes, that’s undeniable. |
| Richmond’s student body is preppier/more conservative and it’s not as well known nationally/well-regarded academically. Tulane is in New Orleans. Pretty easy choice, in my opinion |
On what basis can you claim Tulane is better regarded academically? Tulane was notorious for gaming the rankings and they were called out big time. Dropped to 70 in USNews and 252 by WSJ. |
Tulane has a national reputation. It's a well-known school. Everyone's heard of it. No-one outside of VA knows Richmond. |
31% ED acceptance rate last year. Get your facts straight |
| Academics are better at Tulane. |
