This is an attractive "woman of a certain age" who most certainly does not appear to be in her early 40s and that is not an insult at all.

She looks great, but that's a bit much. She does not look early 40's. |
It does when it's natural and just how your body is built. People who have to work really, really hard to maintain a size 0 or 2 age faster because their body is literally not getting enough nutrients. Middle age weight gain also hits them differently. In that case it's probably better to accept being a size 6 or 8 and focus on stength training and other maintenance. But Flockhart is a naturally thin person with delicate bone structure. Like Audrey Hepburn. Audrey also aged well despite doing none of the Botox, fillers, and other interventions we do now (and that Flockhart is definitely doing to keep her skin looking smooth and youthful). But Hepburn wasn't dieting to keep her figure. She was just built like that and it aged well because it's what her body looked like. Same thing here, with the added benefit of modern beauty interventions. Oh, also women with extremely feminine features age better because as we age, decreased estrogen can make our features look less feminine. But if you start out with very delicate, fine features, this effect is less pronounced even if you don't do HRT. |
not sure how old she is to me she looks around 50 who is choosing to grow old naturally. |
Completely agree. That isn’t the face of a 40-something woman. |
Tasteful fillers plump up her face, otherwise would probably be more gaunt in the face at her age. |
Agreed, especially not up close, but she looks great. She could easily pass for 52. |
She and Christy Turlington have both done a good job of getting work done that helps them maintain their natural beauty, without doing anything so drastic that it hits uncanny valley territory. They actually seem to have done similar things with their cheeks and lips and it's good, subtle work that lets them have that plump, rosy cheek look and keeps their lips from totally disappearing (Flockhart has always had thin lips and they are thin now but not so thin as to be very aging). |
Watch the video of her this morning on GMA or Live with Kelly Ripa. Calista looked amazing. Maybe it was her makeup or the lighting, but she looked like she’s in her 40s. I’m 49—10 years younger—and she looks waaaay younger than I do (or any of my rich peers who legit fixate on their looks). |
I think she looks about 55 and still beautiful. |
It does if you have the right facial bone structure. With Calista’s large square face, being so skinny benefits her, but women with oval or long faces need a few more pounds as the age or the look drawn. |
Those shows are notorious for their extreme filters and careful lighting. Anyone would look good, and younger! |
I think she looks youthful, but I never found her particularly attractive. It was a storyline on Ally McBeal- I remember one episode in particular, the issue of her (outstanding) looks being a thing. I remember thinking, really, that woman? Not saying she's bad looking, but not who I would pick when casting for "gorgeous." |
+1 million |
She has always had high cheekbones and this makes a big difference in aging. She looks really wonderful. I don't think she looks 40, but she looks like a really beautiful older woman.
I bet she regrets marrying someone so much older. |
