I'm raising my daughter to be 'traditional wife' one day

But, why? Because it's the latest trend on Instagram?

Your response is an example of internalized misogyny.

Regardless of whether this lifestyle is for you, traditional housewives do not “do nothing”.

I’m raising my son and my daughter to recognize that work is work, whether one is paid for it or not.

I would do the same for girls if I had any.
The boys don't know any of it and are doing well at school.
I was abused and used at work place and I don't want it to happen to them. I also can't really help them with any career advice. All I can do is just work, save money so they will have options.

This is a recipe for raising miserable kids with no purpose in life. Even bill gates is not leaving his kids a life of leisure. I would re think this plan.

Because Bill Gates is a model parent or human being? (Read: who GAF what Bill Gates does?)

I'm raising my daughter to be a gold digging, home wrecking, second wife.

Same here

- Divorced mom with career

I was SAHM for 9 years and got divorced partly due to financial abuse and a controlling XH. I am so glad that I had started back into working before sh*t hit the fan because I’m on my own 2 feet.

I'm a traditional wife in a traditional marriage and I think that raising your daughter to a particular mold will always backfire.

It works for me, but I went to college first and developed myself, it would not have worked if I was forced into it.

Being a housewife and working are both a lot of boring drudgery and frustration. It's a real job, if you are really doing it. What she's doing is performative.

There is nothing fun about washing endless dishes and laundry and cleaning floors and changing diapers. I write a Substack for fun, not for money, just to have an outlet.

I would never pretend it's interesting or fun, but for me, it's super meaningful and I feel appreciated at home. As the kids get older and more interesting, there are many more enjoyable moments.

Life isn't about being glamorous or having fun. It's putting one foot in front of the other, having healthy relationships, validating real needs and figuring out how to fulfill them constructively.

This cannot be emphasized enough.

Hope you raise her better than OP was raised. The quality of trolling lately has gone seriously downhill. It was once an art! For shame, DCUM!

+1. I remember when my mother sent me to troll finishing school. It was hard! It took dedication! Daily practice! Now any fool thinks they can just go online and start trolling. Sad times.
