I'm a traditional wife in a traditional marriage and I think that raising your daughter to a particular mold will always backfire.

It works for me, but I went to college first and developed myself, it would not have worked if I was forced into it.

Being a housewife and working are both a lot of boring drudgery and frustration. It's a real job, if you are really doing it. What she's doing is performative.

There is nothing fun about washing endless dishes and laundry and cleaning floors and changing diapers. I write a Substack for fun, not for money, just to have an outlet.

I would never pretend it's interesting or fun, but for me, it's super meaningful and I feel appreciated at home. As the kids get older and more interesting, there are many more enjoyable moments.

Life isn't about being glamorous or having fun. It's putting one foot in front of the other, having healthy relationships, validating real needs and figuring out how to fulfill them constructively. [/quote]
