How is she going to manage Miss America duties and being an Air Force pilot? |
Good question. She’s currently getting her masters degree so I’m guessing she won’t even start pilot training for 3 years. |
Sounds like she's on her way to an entertainment career. |
No, she seems like a great kid. Very impressive. I’m confused about her apparent interest in health policy and flying though. I don’t see a logical transition from pilot to cancer/health policy. Seems like the flying is a hobby but Air Force pilot is a full time job, not something you do on the side. Maybe she’ll go reserves asap. |
What does her being a great kid have to do with it? Sounds like a waste of taxpayer money training someone who has no intention of being a fighter pilot. |
She'll never be a pilot. |
| I can understand why you ladies are jealous. But jealousy is ugly, like you. |
| Do you know how many serious high school seniors wanted that academy spot? Who would have actually gone on to serve in the air force without taking a year off for a BEAUTY PAGEANT? |
Hardly. Beauty pageants objectify women and her choice will make it harder for other women fighter pilots and academy graduates to be taken seriously. |
|
So she's finding a way to pay for all of her education. I'm in the "hate the game, not the player" camp on this one.
The Miss America program is the world's largest scholarship program for women.https://www.pbs.org/wgbh/americanexperience/features/miss-america-organization-and-pageant-icons/#:~:text=Since%20establishing%20the%20scholarship%20program,largest%20scholarship%20program%20for%20women. And why can't she be both a pilot and a public health expert? |
You must be the poster who keeps posting miscellaneous entertainment news that Jeff described in his summary. Sorry, not playing. |
And despite all this, she is *still* enforcing the patriarchy. Depressing. |
Well two of those things take talent. |
She didn’t take a year off. She graduated. She’s getting a masters degree right now. |
If you think the AF isn’t benefiting from this PR, you’re kidding yourself. |
