Closing Early Today?

Anonymous
Our private in Anne Arundel Co is closing early, but we have flooding issues here.

Dumb question (new to this). Will there be busing if our school closes early? Haven’t heard yet

To the poster that says why are we doing private, I’m not seeing a correlation between closing early one day and my reason for choosing private which has nothing to do with length of school day.

Then homeschool. Then you don’t have to worry about any of this drama.

I’m not stressing about early closing. We do split shifts so one of us is home at this time. Today it’s my spouse.

Our school canceled all after school activities and games.

Teachers (and new drivers) should absolutely risk driving home in severe weather so you can go for yet another promotion at your high-powered job.

It is too bad the paycheck for teaching history does not include hazard pay for driving home in extreme inclement weather. Donate more money to your child’s school maybe?

You’re the one who is the drama queen. Such an over-reaction to one day!

Just cancelled US activities, huzzah! Pick up at 3:15 instead of 5:30.

Was shocked to hear local public school systems are closing early today because of anticipated rain/wind. Our private doesn’t follow MCPS for delays/closings. Are any privates closing early?

Why are you shocked? You do realize that a public school system has a much greater risk profile they need to consider than a private school. They have to consider PreK-12 students and 100K+ more students. There is significantly more bussing of kids going on. Thousands of kids are walkers. Not to mention other area schools also were disliking early or closed.
