Favorite family resorts in south Florida?

We have been to Marco Island actually and loved it. It's booked for our dates this spring. Is Harbor Beach similar/as nice? What is the Fort Lauderdale vibe?

DP checking this out but it seems rather tired. and no food options except on property?

There is a shopping center with a breakfast/bagel places and maybe 3-4 restaurants few blocks away, and a Hilton next door. Mostly it’s a residential area, but if you go north, palm beach gardens has a ton of stuff. The road very much reminds me of marco island.

Only $2200 a night pre tax for APS spring break.

Whenever I check, this hotel always seems to be around $900+ per night. Are there any other properties people have enjoyed with their family in that area?

Thoughts on Fort Lauderdale in general for a family vacation? Spring break?

I’ve been to FLL for work. Lots of nice hotels on a strip by the beach, but to me it didn’t stand out as a place I’d purposely choose to vacation at with my family.

I’d only vacation there if I was on the way somewhere else or nearby, or maybe for a quick weekend getaway with friends or husband. I didn’t notice much in the area to do with kids, it would be an extremely low key vacation.

Cheeca is awesome. Also great resorts up in Hollywood, with better beach.
The recent Checca reviews are pretty bad for the price. We considered the keys for spring break but I couldn’t find a hotel I was excited about.

JW Mariott Marco Island is amazing!
Marriott Harbor Beach is rundown IMO and not that great.

This was the question

“Would appreciate tips! We’re deciding between keys and maybe Fort Lauderdale.”

Sorry I didn’t call my physic friend so they could tell me you were asking for APS Spring Break.

Same. I haven’t seen any property down there (Keys) that looks anything close to this “awesome” experience the PP is referencing. Either they don’t get out much or their lodging standards are pretty low.

Not in the same area but we really liked Hyatt Regency Coconut Point.

Maybe check out casa marina. It was just redone. Their rooms are only $1000 a night.
