Irresponsible for you to speculate like that. |
Yes, it's dangerous for cars. No, it's not dangerous for the people in the cars. I don't know where you live, but probably many of the "jaywalking" people are crossing at intersections, which means they are crossing in a crosswalk and have the right of way, and drivers are supposed to stop. |
e DP. WTF? What person who is paying attention to the road, blows through children in a crosswalk? I would strongly bet the person was on their phone. |
It is utterly irresponsible for you to speculate and jump to conclusions. Two children are dead. Have some goddamn respect. |
How is it irresponsible? How is it disrespectful to the 2 children who were killed by the driver at an elementary school? |
Speculation and jumping to conclusions in any circumstance like this is wildly inappropriate and irresponsible. Only someone who is truly stupid wouldn’t understand that. Are you stupid? At some point investigators will revel what happened. But you have no idea and what you think or assumed happened may very well might not have. So cool it. |
Can we get back to talking about how two children were killed by a driver this morning in front of an elementary school? And how this is a thing that is not supposed to happen? And how we need to make big changes, fast - to the roads, to the cars, to the driver behavior - so that it doesn't happen again? |
You are either a troll, or someone truly committed to supporting texting while driving. NO one is making light of the fact that two children were senselessly killed by an irresponsible and distracted driver. And cell phones are a BIG contributor to distracted driving. |
How about you let the investigation finish first? Jesus. |
In this case, nobody knows if they were involved. |
It’s amazing how you have no actual knowledge of the case but have already convicted the driver of distracted driving. Wow. Maybe you should sit the rest of this thread out. |
Why? Here's what we know: fact: 2 children fact: killed by a driver fact: at an elementary school I think that's plenty of facts to start with. |
| I live down the street from an MCPS elementary school. It's a busy street with a lot of construction and the crosswalks that do exist have limited visibility. Drivers routinely go 10-20 miles above the speed limit. I've been here for 20 years and never once seen any effort to enforce speed limits. |
| The intersection appears to be right in front of the school parking lot. No crossing guard? |
I don’t, since you are seeking policy solutions. |
