Saddlebags

Ugh. Wish you could just spot reduce areas like saddle bags through diet and exercise but honestly...it doesn't really work. This is just where your body stores fat. Lipo is really the only thing that effectively targets that area. I tried everything and no regrets on finally getting lipo.

B3 person here - I love my workout and my studio. I agree the workout will help with OP's issue, especially the new B3 Strength class.

OP here and thanks, I’ll look into it. I just joined a gym so can’t afford other classes right now. Can any of the exercises translate to the gym?

Yes, in B3 we do a lot of squats, planks, deadlifts, rows, overhead presses, bicep and tricep with dumbbells. Basically a lot of the "push-pull" compound motions which is what you want and will give you the biggest bang for your buck. The key really is to push yourself, hard. Don't use tiny 3lbs weights, you'll just be spinning your wheels and not make much progress. You have to use weights that are heavier than you think you can handle.

Thanks

You can also do B3 online. I can’t ever make it to classes, so have done online for 3+ years now.

I’ve never thought of saddlebags as cute and feminine! But if I can’t get rid of them, I may need to reframe my thinking.

Just be heathy and continue to exercise and try not to focus on what your perceive as flaws. You are 55. You are the only one that cares about saddlebags. No one else notices this is thinks of it as a flaw. They probably think you look amazing for your age and it is great you aren’t overweight

She is BMI 20 but 24% fat. Sounds like a skinny fat situation to me. She can probably lose a little bit of fat, but she should mostly build some muscle.

Yes, skinny fat! OP here and that’s my issue. A fitness consultant at my gym told me I should lose 2 pounds of fat and gain 6 in muscle to balance my frame.

How old is too old to get Lipo? (I’m not implying that OP is too old, I’m just curious if there’s an age where lipo is no longer a good idea).

If you're healthy I don't think age is an eliminator, however the older you are the less happy you're more likely to be with the outcome. I don't know this from personal experience just from online reading.
