Once they saw the meal you made and what you were wearing, it's possible they were embarrassed. |
They probably thought they were going to a casual dinner at their chill neighbors’ house, and they grossly miscalculated 😂 |
With you OP. Can’t stand when people do this and wonder why they don’t get invited back. I don’t have family over for the same reason. |
Are you in a red state + live in a middle class suburb OP? I noticed my MAGA red state relatives never dress up. Just one more example of America's decline. |
Wow |
I don’t think it’s a big deal, but I would definitely probably dress up in jeans at least. |
OP, this is how you end up in the old folk's home sitting alone wondering why no one visits and you have no friends.
|
Lol +1. “But I was so judgmental! Why doesn’t anyone want to hang out with me?” |
I’d never show up at a friends house for dinner wearing sweats. If they are willing to put the effort in to make dinner for us I will put in a bit of effort to look like I hadn’t just cleaned the basement. |
Not that hard to throw on jeans! |
I wouldn't wear sweats but it certainly wouldn't bother me if someone did. |
I mean, these days there are some freaking expensive sweats out there! I wouldn't wear sweats but with the whole "athletic lesiure" thing I have definitely seen some outfits that are sweats but not "just cleaned my basement" sweats. |
Do they normally wear sweats around the neighborhood? I agree it sounds odd. |
+1 it’s called good manners. |
I’d be surprised but I wouldn’t care. |
