When the best defense of Bowser is this incorrect comment, woof. |
Right and since this post is about the Wilson pool, the school name is irrelevant. What is relevant is that the mayor is incompetent and incapable. |
| Does anyone know why the pool is closed? Or why it's not reopening? |
| If you think the Wilson project is bad, the East Potomac pool has been under construction for years. Millions of dollars were poured into the project and the pool is now being deconstructed due to a “design error”. |
HVAC issues. There was a temporary fix this summer. There's been discussion in Frumin's emails, but I don't recall seeing an explanation of how long the closure is scheduled for. |
| Where’s Fenty now? |
I think dating a billionaire. Seriously. The guy always aimed high. |
What is the underlying problem though? Understaffed, underbudgeted, or are they not getting repair orders in a timely manner? There seems to be a lot of these sorts of issues happening in the past year or so. At least we know some of what's happening, which is a nice change of pace, but it's still a black box. |
I think she dumped him years ago. |

Exactly who all got rich as a result? |

DPR is pretty unaccountable. None of its leadership have publicly accessible email addresses. If the MPD chief has a publicly available email address, there's no excuse in the world for the DPR chief to not have one available.
Most of my experience with DPR is taking tennis classes. While generally a positive and affordable experience, there's a lot of inconsitencies that no one at DPR wants to explain. Like how some weeknight classes will be one hour, 1.5 hours or maybe 2 hours, but all the same total price. Same for having fewer weeks of a class but still paying the same price. Some classes also have way too many people. If you take a weeknight class at a neighborhood location like Fort Stevens, they cap the class at 5 or 6 people at the most per coach so that intermediates can stay engaged. But if you take classes at Banneker, you'll have 13-14 players per coach, which is completely ridiculous. Also, DPR decided at the last minute to cancel all activities and close all facilities on Sept 29 for an all staff meeting to "help improve the DPR experience." Of course, nobody bothered answering when I asked if classes would be refunded or rescheduled. How hard is it to plan around an all-staff meeting and not sell classes for that day? Apparently too difficult for DPR. |
+1 What happened?? |
| There is a long and concerning list of incompetence in the basic administration of city services that is deeply concerning. At this stage, I think the list of what actually works in DC would be significantly shorter than what doesn’t. |
| I’m not sure why people keep voting for Bowser but they do. So here we are |
