+1. I live in Maine. No one in my circle regrets voting for Biden.

Like you said, you live in Maine.

Inflation won't seem like such a big problem compared to not having free access to medical care as a woman.

This is what this election will be about at the end of the day.

Careful, the resident troll will call you "MAGA" for daring to say you regret voting for Biden.

My single issue in 2024 will be the border. Inflation is bad too, but the border is absolutely outrageous and shameful.

Trump is going to win Ohio again, for the third time. I suppose most of your neighbors disagree with you. "Real" Americans or not. I suppose the real question for Ohio is whether Sherrod Brown holds on or is swept away in a third Trump statewide victory.

The histrionics aside, which is to be expected on DCUM, the Biden administration has real problems going into this election. Joe Biden's age is clearly a major issue with three fourths of Americans saying in multiple polls that he is too old. This includes most Democrats. Then you have the Hunter Biden laptop and DOJ mess, which means no matter how you spin it, Biden is not as clean and incorruptible he was supposed to be in contrast to Trump, and which in turn makes Trump's own legal problems less a moral issue for his supporters. Trump didn't use the DOJ to try to cover up his kids' dubious business activities, something that is beyond dispute Biden's WH was trying to do.

Then we have inflation, which has been real and serious.

If the Democrats want to hold on to the WH, they have a better chance without Biden. Any Democrat who ignores these three major, major, major problems facing the Biden administration for a reelection is just a hardcore partisan in deep denial.

I don't know what will happen in 2024. But there is a reason why Trump is outperforming his 2020 polls and is in a virtual tie with Biden despite trailing substantially in all polls in 2020 and Biden's approval rates are among the worst of any president going into reelection. These are not anecdotes or personal "lived" experiences of neighbors who don't regret voting for Biden, but the hard reality of today's polls repeated over and over again.

Is the election happening this November?

I’m making sure that people understand that what they’re hearing is “high inflation “ is really including extremely high corporate profits. Most already realize that corporate profits are championed by Republicans. In my personal circles, no one regrets voting for Biden over Trump, although some do wish that voting for Elizabeth Warren had been a realistic option.

As to “miserable “ — so many people in my circles were made miserable by having a racist like Trump, with clear mental and emotional challenges as Commander in Chief. That prospect far overshadows the genuine challenges of inflation, which is actually lower than the inflation rates in many other countries. They also get — see my first point — that having a Republican President is highly correlated with problematic economic outcomes for most people and businesses not in the top 1 - 10 percent. They — and I — will vote accordingly, no matter how much the Trump-bots post.

Oh thank god for this explanation. I’ll remember that the next time I pay $300 to feed my family for 4 days, or $65 to gas up my car.

Sorry you’ve made such poor and easily preventable economic choices?

OP, this was me in 2022. I was so frustrated with inflation that I held my nose and voted for (a moderate) R. He’s campaigned on lowering inflation. But a year plus later I’ve yet to see any legislation put forth by Republicans that would lower costs for Americans or tackle inflation. All I see is stuff about Hunter, and DOJ inquiries. And now Rs are fighting each other. My new Congressman presents well but he hasn’t delivered.

Next election is Dems all the way. Fool me once…
