it is very demanding academically. people there actually cross-enroll at mit to boost their grades.

It’s not on my kid’s radar because it’s too small and not enough sports/spirit. Student body a little intense/quirky? It’s not for everyone .

This was an interesting article.

It’s radically left and woke. The town is boring. It’s an extremely non traditional college experience.

And they’re dating opportunities.
Dating opportunities are lacking at many coed schools these days, with many uo to 3/4 female. See Tulane.

It seems like a great school- urban location, access to MIT/Olin/Babson, tons of opportunites, great alumnae network. I understand that being a women's college means less interest but it still receives roughly 75% of the applications of similarly ranked coed school.

You don’t hear about it bc it’s a self selecting school. People that want to apply there are super interested. Women that went there are secure and don’t need to constantly boost the school on dcum.

My wife (gay) went, so it was fine for dating prospects. She has other complaints - frequently says it's where fun goes to die. She was telling me just last night that her and a straight college friend were talking about their college experiences. The straight friend regretted going, not having men around in college and then spending her 20s frantically chasing after men (her description).

We visited, and I found the campus stunning (beautiful old buildings up on a hill overlooking a lake, and yet, a 25 minute ride and your in Boston). Definitely not an urban campus, which is why our dd also ruled out Tufts. Whatever - she wanted urban and is at another Boston school right in the city

So, the Russian (or Chinese? Or Republican?) bot goofed.

Basically this. My kid is fairly liberal, but even so going to a college dominated by political activism holds zero appeal.

Honestly the kids are young and want to have fun.

Almost all the top SLACs have woke activism... Wellesley's peers (WASP, Barnard, Bowdoin, etc.) certainly do.

Wellesley is great! I also loved visiting Smith, which has a beautiful campus in an awesome college town.
Women's colleges have strong alumni networks in my experience too.
