Jessica

1965 Jessica here.

I agree -- all the Jessicas after me need to change their name to Jennifer.

Op here. Never met a Kayla but Lyndsey/Lindsay/Lindsey have been kind.

I don't have an issue with Jessicas- they seem to be 'on it' in terms of work/life... but Karens are always jerks. I wish that wasn't true because that name gets enough hate these days. Black Karens are normal but the white ones- even when they seem normal enough at first... I just wait for it and it happens.

Michele/Michelles can be hit or miss though.

I'm a Jessica and I sincerely think I am an easy to like, not difficult person. I work with and know several other Jessicas too and can think of at least two that are really good people.

This trouble with all Jessicas -- is there a common denominator other than that name? What could that common denominator be, OP? Maybe...you.

omg... one of the worst interactions i've ever had with another human being was with a Jessica. A neighbor who made my life hell because she was angry and neurotic.

Thanks for the observations OP.

This is kind of like when I became convinced that everyone who drove a Rav4 was a bad driver who never signaled.

I no longer say this but for like 4 years, every time someone cut me off on the freeway, it felt like there was an 80% chance it was a Rav4.

I have two Jessica cousins and one Jessica godsister. Although one goes by Jessie, they're all lovely people, one more sarcastic than the other two, one more crunchy than the other two, but they're all great.

I've only met nice Sarahs! And I know three!!!

I've never thought about this until now, but every Sarah I know started out cool and then eventually I came to dislike them. Including the one I'm related to. Extremely specific pattern, maybe there is something to this.

Does being named Sarah lead to you developing pretty good social skills but also some underlying issues with competitiveness and passive aggression that start to wear thin after a while? Because this is a thing in my life.

Only Sarah with an h, though. I'm neutral on Sara.

Lots of friends called Sarah. Zero Jennifers.

Op here. Thank you all for indulging me 😆 a friend has always had issues with Andrea’s with the Ann- pronunciation. 😆

Never ever met a Doug, Todd or Kevin that I didn’t instantly hate even before I knew their names.
I love my Jessica but have never liked a Wendy

Always liked Jessica. Jessie was a senior when I was a freshman on field hockey and she "adopted" me and made my high school transient so much easier!

Now Lisa. . . that's another story! Never met a Lisa who was not a crazy witch. Ever.

That’s how my two year old pronounced his cousin’s name. She ended up not all that likable.

Nah, I had a good friend in high school named Jessica. Watch out for Matthews from both generation X and Z! They are always such jerks, but the Mikes always seem to be good guys. Too many Jennifers to stereotype...if you go to a reunion and don't recall the name and you are gen x, it may be Jen.
