Where do the genius level kids go these days?

I know three actual geniuses. One holds a patent on something and lives off of some kind of royalty. Just kind of travels and wastes time now. The other two bounce from job to job because they can't deal with other people. The highs and lows are extreme. One has his broker and parole officer on speed dial. Messy AF

If genius is American-Asian from middle class public school then probably going to Berkley, MIT, Carnegie, Rice, Caltech, UChicago, Amherst.

. You say this as these groups are mutually exclusive! You can be a genius too but I digress. Getting top scores and grades don't make one a genius by the way.

Defensive wealthy legacy who doesn't want to push their kids too hard has entered the thread.

I know one real genius, she is high on work life balance since graduating college and living a relaxed life working in a fortune 500 making good money working from home and enjoying life. She feels chasing ambition has no bounds, finds similar satisfaction helping at homeless shelters.

And that they can get into. Not all geniuses have the GPAs that MIT and Cal Tech require

Or the research experience/recognition.

Getting top scores and grades doesn't make one a genius but its comes easy for them.

I've known two kids from growing up in CA that I could confidently say are geniuses.

One went to Caltech. He eventually got his PhD and is now a tenured professor at the #1 university in that field.

Another one went to UC Berkeley. He is very wealthy and somewhat famous now.

Actual genius level kids I guess graduate high school at age 12 and go to local colleges near where they live and graduate by 16.

A lot of those kids are just tiger parented kids.

How does the genius demonstrate that they are a genius on paper? If the transcripts don't reflect that they are a genius, then it's irrelevant

I know one who is a mathematician now, didn't even have to prep for SAT or GRE. Just looked up a test book to understand the testing pattern and walked in next week to ace those tests.

I don’t think that changes the answer. Public flagship

Again, cost is the driver for the vast majority of families. There are superstars at many different types of schools.
