Do you love your children more than your pets?

What?! Obviously yes, it’s not even in the same ballpark

Yes, but I get more affection in return from the dog.

Yes, clearly.

Yes. I would die for my kids.

I love my dogs though! It's not even a close comparison.

My preschool aged kids are constantly asking who I love more: Them? Daddy? Grandma/Grandpa? Best friend? I've had to explain over and over that there are different types of love. Romantic love, familial love, friendship

I love, love, adore my cat. But I love my kids million times more. What kind of question is this?

I do. And I LOVE my parents.
I definitely love my pet more than any human I’ve ever known.

I do. Most of my friends love their children and pets equally. They refer to their pet as one of their children.

I have no kids, and I adore my dogs.

Sometimes. My kids are older so the dog feels more like having a toddler or baby - uncomplicated love.

Love my kid, dog is ok.

Not me. My parents sacrificed a lot for me. No way could a pet cat or dog come before my parents.

Ehhh, I make jokes about how our dog was our “first baby” because we got our dog before having kids. I love him tremendously, but it’s nowhere near the same as my love for my children. The love I have for my kids is absolutely primal as in j would die for them in a heartbeat. They are the reason for basically every choice I make in life from career, to housing, to planning activities. Whereas my life does not revolve around my dog to that extent.

** Our dog is very well loved and we are spending a small fortune treating his various medical conditions, we take him along on hiking trips, and overall he lives a very loved family life. Mentioning in case anyone attacks me as a bad pet owner for feeling this way.
