Lol yes. It is wild how quickly after having kids a dog becomes just a dog. Not to say the pet isn't loved or cared for but it is so different. I truly don't know anyone who feels differently.
I do. Most of my friends love their children and pets equally. They refer to their pet as one of their children.
Ehhh, I make jokes about how our dog was our “first baby” because we got our dog before having kids. I love him tremendously, but it’s nowhere near the same as my love for my children. The love I have for my kids is absolutely primal as in j would die for them in a heartbeat. They are the reason for basically every choice I make in life from career, to housing, to planning activities. Whereas my life does not revolve around my dog to that extent. ** Our dog is very well loved and we are spending a small fortune treating his various medical conditions, we take him along on hiking trips, and overall he lives a very loved family life. Mentioning in case anyone attacks me as a bad pet owner for feeling this way.
