We went several years ago in late October. It aligned with some no-school days so that we were there about 4-5 days but only missed one day of school. It was great weather, and not very crowded. I don't think it was warm enough that we wanted to go to the pool. |
Family and life experience and joy can happen without taking kids out of school for a week for Disney. |
It’s not about whether they’ll struggle academically. It’s about the message it sends about priorities. |
I'm a teacher. As long as you don't ask me to do additional work or make spacial arrangements for your kids, why would i care? Your kids will just be marked absent and will get no credit for missed work. It's not like your kids are in the hospital or some such situation. |
And it can happen during school...both can happen at the same time |
And if it happens during school, you’re sending the message to your kids that school isn’t that important. It’s not like kids don’t get school breaks. |
Why are parents of singletons also the biggest sticks in the mud. |
And if they miss a pop quiz, they’ll fail it. As they should. |
My parents did the same thing with me and my sister. |
Hypocrite |
If my kids are getting the message that family bonding and joy are more important than school they will have gotten the right message exactly. |
And they were also smug a-holes about it? |
it is always busy at Disney |
Or you can teach them that all of that can happen without them missing school. |
My post was factual, not smug. |
