I hear statistics aren't doing so well in Florida. They must be worried older people will stop moving there, because of the leprosy, climate change, and desperate poor people.

Yeah - because he’s a good businessman and can afford bodyguards.

Kinda wondering if they just didn't report/count correctly.

Incredible, right? They’re obviously doing something right. For starters, they probably didn’t defund the police.

Funny you say that - the city where I live, St Pete, has put a lot of resources into social workers and community service workers answering calls instead of police. I.e., defunding the police. It's been a huge success.

Meanwhile DeeeeeeeeSantis is trying to lure violent individuals from other states to be cops in Florida

While school violence can certainly happen in any state, it isn’t a regular occurrence in Florida as it is in Montgomery and Fairfax counties. It’s a damn shame when students have no expectation of basic safety in your public schools.

Safety should be the #1 concern of any school. Your schools need to reconsider their priorities. Your school board and administrators are doing nothing effective to curb the violence in schools. RJ isn’t much doing anything to reduce the violence.

Florida ranks number four behind California, Texas and Illinois in school shootings.

Yeah but we're trying real hard to become #1!

It’s true that certain 911 are not emergencies. That happens everywhere when people simply panic for whatever reason, and all they really need is someone to hold their hand and help them calm down. Social workers would be the best thing for them.

Also, you have to have residents and tourists to create crime. Tourists aren't visiting and many LGBTQ residents are leaving.

July 2021 - July 2022 saw more people moving to FL than out of FL. I suspect the July 2022 - July 2023 data will be the opposite.

We could only be so lucky. The more liberals that move out of Florida the better.

Brookings looked at violent crime between 2019 (the year DeSantis took office and 2021 (latest year data is available).

Violent crime is up 37% in Tampa, 21% in Jacksonville and 19% in Orlando.

New York City had the lowest violent crime rate per 100,000 people — about half of Orlando’s rate.

The crime rate in FL for former POTUSs is at an all-time high.

No. We’re saying Florida isn’t actually doing well. And we don’t want to make the rest of the country like Florida because that would be a disaster.

DeSantis is flaming out of the GOP primary race at least.
