The weirdest people on my block are the paranoid family that are superficially normal and undeniably high functioning. They are either in an insular religious cult, End Times preppers or both. Possibly CIA.
The runner up family has ‘roid enhanced body builder dad who may have a TBI and doesn’t wear shirts |
What kind of weird are we talking about? Because the weird family in my neighborhood, their kid killed his dad after they moved away. |
I want to hear more about these people. |
The guy who screams/sings in Spanish at all hours of the day all over NW. Although he may be more of a “character” than weird. |
CT Avenue on the block with Politics and Prose, 5pm ish on Thursdays like clock work. |
The neighbors who never come outside, never walk their dog, he just sits in the yard all day. They have a son who I met when we moved here 10 years ago who was like 6 but we haven’t seen him since. They had an older dog that would wander off and hang out at our our house with us and they would text and ask us to send him home. They are quiet tho so I don’t mind them. |
Dude’s probably making millions on YouTube. |
Hi neighbor, I don't go outside near your house as I'm trying to avoid you as you are terribly demanding, obnoxious and much more. |
Is this the man with the blond Afro? |
This isn't necessarily weird but I knew something was off with my across the street neighbors. Neither adult seemed to work - this was 25 years ago when work from home was not very common. They had very expensive habits for our neighborhood. We were in a middle class neighborhood but they seemed to have habits that were more in line with UMC. The had four German Shepherds - and the dogs were living in the garage and were not family pets. Turns out, he was a big time bookie and he and his wife didn't "work." He was arrested and served jail time. Those dogs were protecting the house. They purchased their home for cash. They were a young couple and he was just getting started in his bookie business so hadn't amassed enough money to afford something in a more expensive neighborhood. |
Do you live in horse country? |
Ahah same here. I thought we may end up in this list |
Sounds like a great neighborhood! |
Nah. There are definitely weird people out there. Some families lean more autistic/on the spectrum. Some just have weird outlooks and habits. It doesn't make them interesting. It makes them weird. Just like "body positivity" people are still fat no matter how you try to spin it and say they're still beautiful. |
We live in a very small hoa and have a swingset on a common area. There is an adult male, probably in his 60s who goes on the swings every day in just a pair of shorts. No shirt. He will also lay out on the grass in the sun, also in just shorts, near the swingset.
It’s weird. |
