He's definitely weird, but weird I can deal with... hell, I love me some weird -- weird makes everything more fun and interesting.
This guy is more than weird, he's downright threatening & menacing.
I live in Bethesda (let's try to not lose focus and start the Bethesda bashing, please? It's not all encompassing like some on here would like to believe) anyway... this guy is a dog walker around Huntington Parkway and he is downright man.
He walks around in a neon yellow shirt with cut off sleeves that says "dog walker" and camo shorts always, in his 60's a buzz cut and snarls at everyone. It's not the dogs he walks that anyone is afraid of.. it's him.
He walked passed a home with a beagle out front who was laying on its front lawn and the home had an electric fence (sign prominently displayed out front saying so) and his smaller dogs he was walking started getting yappy and so the dog laying in his front yard stood up to investigate -- that's all, no bark, no growl, no charge, nothing and he told the woman who was sitting in the front yard with her dog (who happened to be 7 months very pregnant) that he was going to kick her f'ing dog if it came anywhere near him (he had on construction boots) and then gave her one of those motions where you act like you're going to do something just to get the other person to flinch.
She was so startled, that she called me to come over (I'm a neighbor) and she showed me the interaction on her Ring video... it was shocking.
She described it exactly as it happened -- nothing was done by either of them to provoke such a hostile reaction or a threat.
It was scary to see it unfold, and she was very unmistakably pregnant.
This neighborhood is very friendly, lots of older homes with many young families and dogs.
Everyone says hello if they're walking or jogging by, and it feels very close knit, but it is hard to get to know everyone more than just a hi! or a wave, because most households in this neighborhood have both parents working.
Well, my neighbor posted about this interaction to NextDoor, and there were at least a dozen stories or more about this guy, and the scenario is always the same... he's always angsty & threatening to people walking dogs who have not provoked him at all.
Nobody knows the dogs he walks to warn the owners, because apparently he walks them over a mile or so and nobody has followed him.
He may be a great dog walker, I don't know, but there is definitely a screw loose -- and I am very much a "live and let live kind of person".
If you want to kick kids off of your lawn all day long, so be it. It's your lawn to do with as you please.
However, dog owners all over the neighborhood are terrified of this guy and apparently there's nothing that can be done to get him to tone down his attitude because he hasn't actually done anything... yet (except to threaten to kick, stomp, and pepper spray other dogs that were walking past him).
I remember when this exchange happened on next-door! It was really notable how many people chimed in with negative experiences with him!
