I think she was probably older but she was clearly still a child (that they had adopted!) she was their daughter! It’s like they didn’t even Google adoption before getting her. |
Did they talk about the people who went and investigated in Ukraine and found her mother and did DNA tests and looked at hospital records and birth certificates and family pictures when her mother was pregnant etc?
I am pretty sure they concluded she was a child and given al the factors, including her mothers age at birth she couldn’t be very old even if the birth certificate was altered for adoption. Everything about this documentary seems very biased towards the parents who after getting one judge to issue a new birth certificate without much proof, were then able to use that birth certificate to support their case everywhere else. I am not really interested in watching it if it the parents propaganda piece. They have made a lot of money off her already. |
This show is very interesting it changes directions constantly. You can't figure who the villain is. I do think they adopted an adult even the hospital said she was an adult and when they tracked her mom down too. She said "it's been 19 years" did that mean since she gave her up or since she had her??! They weren't clear about this.
The dad seems a little more honest and upfront since he's willing to talk about it. |
I listened to a podcast on this and it blew my mind!
I can't wait to watch this! |
It gets broader and darker. |
You won't be disappointed. |
I think if you're an actual dwarf and you've been discarded in Ukraine and sent to the US there is on some basic level trauma involved |
Why can’t we hear from Natalia herself? |
What network/ streaming service is this on?
Did they ever discuss why the first couple she lived with in the US didn't end up agreeing to adopt her or disrupted the adoption? |
I think it is TLC. The first parents are nuts. They were going to Little People Conventions and trying to basically just give her to other little people. |
Not at all surprised and yes she was an adult and yes there was definitely lying going on in Ukraine. We adopted our child from overseas. I have heard it all and orphanages telling young adults to keep quiet and go along with the story they are younger happens.
Aquatinted with two families were was the case. fake birth certificates, fake medical records, social worker reports, court records - nothing new. Happened all the time. You can’t take anything you get from an overseas adoption file is 100% true and accurate. If you get 50% that’s pretty good! |
It’s on ID Channel and Max streaming. |
Just watched it and am disgusted that a court system would be so derelict as to change one's age based on the shoddy 'evidence' that was provided. This series definitely sheds light on such injustices and the discrimination that exists for those with disabilities. So disturbing. Having some professional experience with and knowledge re: her condition and the impacts of childhood trauma, I am not surprised at her behaviors - as alleged to have occurred in the home of the adopted parents and in the first neighborhood where she was abandoned. (However, I believe the alleged behaviors re fabricated or grossly exaggerated.) Both parents are truly narcissistic and abusive.
There were so many missed opportunities to get assistance for her during her childhood. (I do believe the original birth year based on the evidence provided as well as photographs, behaviors, etc.) It is heartwarming to know that she is in a warm, accepting, loving home where she can heal and feel embraced. Anyway, can't wait to see the episode of her story and hope that the age can be changed back based on recently released evidence and actual medical documentation. (She deserves to win a lawsuit against the court system and her former adoptive abusers in my opinion.) |
It ended kind of abruptly. I still don’t understand the absolute absence of follow through of CPS. I feel like she could sue them. |
