But the price point is excellent for new construction and this is the last new construction single family community that North Arlington is going to see. The location is extremely convenient to 50, 66, Wilson Blvd, EFC metro. It's a lovely, green part of the county - the price point is quite good. They will sell fast. |
I think it’ll be an interesting commentary for the state of the local economy. My personal opinion is the economy is teetering on the edge and we’ll see that reflected here with days on market. It would be good news to be proven wrong. I drove through a while back - lots suck and set into the hillside. I would rather buy $2M elsewhere. |
The garden apartments are across the border in Fairfax County. There are two or three small ones along the Arlington County line, just inside. |
In Arlington Lyon Park and Lyon Village both have clubhouses and parks that were built by the developer. Arlington Forest built a tennis and pool club for the neighborhood. Also built a charming little village with shops and cafes, now a nice Outback, pizza joint etc. |
Only the patrick henry apartments are in Arlington, just inside the border by a hair. And those are just a couple very small red brick buildings. All the other garden apartments are in Fairfax County. |
Arlington Forest is not for the neighborhood. It's a private pool with a 7 year waitlist. And it's not even in walking distance of the dumpy shipping center you're talking about. (AFC member and long time resident) |
You must have impossibly high standards. The Arlington Forest shopping center is nice. It looks colonial inspired with its columns and are brick facade. There’s a popular new coffee shop that just opened. The outdoor seating was recently replaced and is often full on warm days. The shops are surrounded by tall oak trees. It might be a very old shopping center, older than most of our parents or grandparents, but that’s precisely why it’s charming. |

If there were actual stores it would be charming. The coffee shop is fine. Otherwise it has an Outback, Mathnasium, dumpy nail place and sorry to say but the Thai place always gives our family diarrhea. |
Run by the civic associations. The Groves will be part of a civic association that maintains and owns a park. They couldn’t have installed a pool or clubhouse just for these three dozen houses and not the other 600 homes. That’s not how Arlington works. |

It isn't a community pool, the PP was in error. It is a private pool that shares the name of a nearby neighborhood. Same thing for Dominion Hills pool and Overlee pool. They are all privately owned and unaffiliated with the neighborhoods with which they share a name. |
