Here's my take, mostly based on flying Southwest. I wish they would let people who don't have carry-on bags in the overhead off first. Most of the time the delay is getting bags from above.
On the other hand, I'm sometimes one of the slow movers, as a "granny" whose legs don't instantly spring into action after a few hours of sitting. |
+1 These people are the worst. |
|
Gross. You’re seriously coming here to announce that you’re one of the jerks barreling through everyone from the back of the plane? And pretending it’s the people taking turns who are the problem??
If you absolutely must be first off the plane then stop being such a cheapskate buying a coach ticket back by the lavatories. Pay up for first class. Though you’ll surely need to work on your manners, it’s a civilization up here. |
Yes!!!! Finally someone said it! However I hate it even more when the said slow poke doesn’t stay in their seat but gets up, starts putting on their jacket, then slowly puts something into their bag on the rack etc |
+1, is not a thing. What actually tends to happen is that many impatient travelers (probably like op) tend to try to push past/block out anyone trying to exit who they perceive might take an extra few seconds to deplane (elderly, families with smaller children, etc ) and on occasion other more courteous passengers will actually stop to let them out “blocking” those behind them. |
I stand up in hope to exit as soon as I can, but if you stand up and don’t walk when there’s space ahead of you - something’s wrong with you |
| My beef is with those who stand up and start slowly packing, all the while blocking the aisle. If you need to pack after the seatbelt sign is off, do it in your seat and let those who are more organized deplane! |
|
I'm too tall to stand until the person on the aisle exits. I'm packed and ready to go, but sitting. Please pause to let me get out of the row.
If you have a tight connection, tell the attendant before you land and they'll have the whole plane stay seated until you get out. |
But yes the polite blockers annoy me too. Honestly I think it is a sign of an easy life if someone can afford the luxury of being overly polite |
+1. I think I also have a beef with some rando who decides to stand in aisle and wait for Slow Packer. It's possible to agree with both sides here. People who push from behind are rude. So are people who, for no good reason, stand in the middle of the aisles blocking everyone behind them. |
People from the back of the plane try to rush to the front before the door is even open. I stand up and put my carry-on on the floor in front of me. That way the people in the front can actually leave the plane without some from the back blocking them in the aisle. |
What do you mean by too tall to stand? If you have an aisle seat and are packed and ready to go, once the seatbelt sign is off, why don’t you stand up in the aisle next to your seat? It blocks the rude ones behind you and gives you a chance to move forward as soon as there’s space in front of you? |
Yes, people should have to pay more to be able to get off the dang plane without waiting for others to perform how polite they are by holding up traffic. I should have paid $0 more to randomly get assigned in Row 3 instead of Row 4! |
I do the same (stand up with my carryon) but if there is space in front of me I move, I don’t block those behind me. Once I see someone in front of me getting out of their seat, of course I stop to let them do it. But I don’t want to just stand there with empty space ahead of me. |
Nobody has a problem with Mr Tall here. He is not loitering around trying to decide if it's really time to deplane. He's just waiting his turn. It's the space cadets who aren't even paying attention who clog up the plane. |
