NP here and you have some serious reading comprehension issues. So you should not be calling OP’s reasonable post “dumb.” |
eggs have ZERO baring on cholesterol. They can bung up your digestive system if you eat too many though, and only you can be the judge of that. |
It is if you know what a vegetarian is. Duh. |
I'm the PP and I never called OP "dumb". How is your reading comprehension today? |
Maybe you need to look up the high levels of cholesterol in eggs. And you also need to realize that many, many vegetarians do eat eggs. (Maybe you're confusing vegetarian with vegan?) There is some debate as to whether the cholesterol that is found in eggs affects cholesterol levels in the blood. Some say it does, others say it doesn't, while many seem to take a middle road and claim that while the cholesterol in eggs doesn't affect cholesterol levels, you should only stick to one or maybe two eggs per day. The advice is all over the place: https://www.health.harvard.edu/heart-health/are-eggs-risky-for-heart-health https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/how-many-eggs-should-you-eat https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/are-eggs-bad-for-cholesterol#summary |
Anyone who is considering eating multiple eggs a day, but starts off stating they are a “ vegetarian” already lost all credibility imo. Why be a hypocrite? |
I think you are confusing vegetarians with vegans. Vegetarians eat eggs, dairy, and honey. Vegans do not consume any animal product. |
There are no rules about being vegetarian, OP. |
Not all vegetarians eat eggs. I was a vegetarian for 20 years , did not eat eggs, was not vegan.
How many eggs one Dr idea to eat has nothing to do with being vegetarian. The other poster wrongly concludes that being vegetarian means you get less cholesterol in your diet overall which is also false. Many vegetarians that don’t eat eggs have high cholesterol. Cheese is not one way that vegetarians introduce protein. Also deep fried foods, nuts, milk. The whole wording of the OP’s question is nonsensical. |
Good for you, but no need to be so rude. -NP |
DP - PP is not being rude at all, you're misinterpreting the tone for sure. |
I have been veg for over 30 years. I eat an egg a day. I have always had great cholesterol numbers. |
3-4 per day is fine, OP. Bonus points if they’re pastured. This is not something to worry about. Seed oils, snacks, etc. should make you wary. |
Vegetarian and vegan are not the same omg |
No, your post is nonsensical. Vegetarians generally do have lower LDL cholesterol. And it's fine if you chose not to eat eggs for whatever reason, but many vegetarians do eat eggs, and the OP is clearly one of them. |
