Now that's funny.

We are talking about the United States senate here.

Even MD state senate would be a tough one for him.

I agree with you but apparently Jawando does not. it’s the worst kept secret in political circles. what does he have to lose by running?

He probably doesnt care, but in theory the risk for him would be pissing off the state party, and hurting himself for future chances when its "his turn".

Either way he has no chance- so he would hurt himself by losing (again) in a congressional/senate campaign.

I'd love to see a Kristin Mink vs. Larry Hogan debate, personally.

Jawando office-shopped to get onto the council. He ran for D20 delegate, ran for Congress in D8, and then landed on the council. But in the general he was the 4th highest vote getter of the 4 at-large so I'm not thinking he has a great path forward.

Maybe Marc Elrich should throw his hat in the ring too.

Trone, Raskin, or maybe Delaney for me.

I’m sure Trone will run.

But if the field gets large enough, we will probably elect a super progressive in the primary. and then Hogan will defeat them in the general. that’s my worry anyway.

I like Trone and I like Hogan so I can see why you’re concerned about moderate votes.

good joke

Not the OP of the comment, but I would support this. Anything to the get the guy out of Montgomery County. He needs to be the country's problem and not the county's problem. We can't take his antics anymore.

Don't pawn off your failures to the rest of the country.

The people who voted for Hogan to rein in some of the excessive spending in Annapolis will balk at the idea of sending an R-MD to the Senate to take away women’s reproductive freedom.

+1
I voted for Hogan twice for governor but no way I’m voting R for senate.

Same. I did not vote for him at all, but in a local election, I would vote for him over someone like Jawando any day. But I won't vote for a Republican at the national level.

I think Kristin Mink is in the wrong line of work because her passion seems to be LGBTQ and trans rights. And I think she should be heading up a national advocacy group. As far as being a state senator? I don’t see that in her future.
