Please help me find a non-awful Communion suit for my 7-year-old son

OP, try Belks or Dillards or a more Southern-oriented department store. They may have what you need.

My daughter has her communion coming up and the dress code for boys l listed a white suit as an option noting that it was common for some cultures to wear the all white. They aren't insisting all the boys wear it, but there's obviously some cultural tie in.

Wrong, I’m a life long Catholic, 16 years Catholic education and kids at Catholic elementary and high schools. I’m 100% against dressing 7 yrs old in white costumes and the awful connotations. My own kids did not wear bridal attire. No one’s going to hell.

Sorry ma’am. These jokes were about the clothing, not the religion. An all white suit for a young child is expensive for one time use, even if that one time is a very special and meaningful occasion.

OP, do you have any friends at your church with slightly older boys who might be able to lend you their son’s suit? There should be a hand me down chain for this.

Happy to attend Holy Trinity where attire is merely “church clothes” for boys and girls. No white dresses required. No expensive purchases needed.

When you sign up for the communion you know there will be a special outfit needed. What difference does it make if it's white? A 7 yr old is going to wear the suit exactly one time no matter what color it is. The dress code for communion is sent out months in advance. Communion season is in full swing right now. Why did OP wait until the last minute on this?

Op here, thank you all! I like several of these and… I like the looks and price of this but all-synthetic fabric gives me pause…it looks ok in the main photo but then the customer pix it looks a bit…shiny? Not sure :/

Try Kidizen or Mercari or Poshmark. I bet there are a lot of people who hated getting buying a suit for one time!

I get my kids special occasion dresses used…way cheaper. I still pay myself on the back for my daughters black tie flower girl $400 dress for $50.
