Did the school board approve the added time off for Syphax? This is a massive taxpayer cost and frankly scandalous.

No, when this went into effect (back in 2021?) Duran stated in an email to all staff that because students are not in schools on those holidays, therefore this decision he made (to gift Syphax all the extra holidays) does not require approval from the SB.

This comes up regularly here and the outrage is comical
Go get a job at Syphax if you want their benefits. Just because you have a job that doesn’t have the same perks doesn’t mean that theirs should be taken away. Life is not fair and tit for tat.

Some are trying to get workers back in the office more often for precisely the reasons cited.
Even federal employees are seeing the problems of teleworking, but their government departments aren't necessarily doing anything about it. Some jobs CAN'T be fully or most effectively done via 100% telework.

My F500 company and my husband's tech start up have gone office optional permanently. For big meetings or when collaboration in person is needed, people go in, but the default is WFH. Clearly these companies wouldn't be allowing WFH as the default if it wasn't working, now would they?
