It’s an underwhelming list esp last 50 years versus many peers.

Oh yeah? How, exactly? Less so than peers like Amherst, Williams, Bowdoin? Sure. Less so than Conn, Bates, Davidson. MacAlester, Mudd, etc? Nope.

I have another game:

Name 3 people rejected by Colby:

1. OP (or children)
2. Posters in the (coincidental?) other colby thread
3. ??

I’ve got no personal beef with Colby but I don’t like schools that seem to play games more than their peers.

This is silly, can anyone here even name 3 famous (undergrad) alumni of Harvard or Stanford or Duke off the top of their head? Doubt it (and no, dropouts don't count).

What is it with DCUM lately? So many teens with so much time in the middle of the day. Yes, you're freaking out about Ivy Day but rather than posting idiotic threads, you're much better off paying attention in class. Some of you must have AP exams coming.

Aside from the college I attended, if you asked me to name famous alumni, I would be hard pressed to come up with any names except from about half the Ivys and MIT. Who cares?

Why would it matter?

Compare it to Bowdoin’s list

Why is my Bowdoin alumni Latino neighbor who always wears the wife beater muscle shirts not on this list?

What’s your point? You don’t like his clothing style? Or that he’s Latino?

Somebody’s reacting badly to being rejected by Colby

Are you kidding? Several US presidents

No, because I don't think I've ever taken a mental note of where someone went to school outside of family and maybe some friends who weave it into conversation enough that it's a running joke.

Lol. That's easy. Harvard has Pete Buttigieg, Neil deGrasse Tyson, and Conan. Stanford has Cory Booker, Josh Hawley, and Peter Thiel. Duke has JB Pritzker, Adam Silver, and Melinda Gates. I'm not including dead people, dropouts, or athletes either and I still did it.

silly exercise, not least because it leads to the inevitable conclusion that most DCUM readers (who aren't going to Harvard) should choose to go to City College of NY.
