Tp - $ 20
Sushi - $9
Chili - $6
Sandwich $7

I mean it’s restaurant prices from a few years ago. Am I crazy to be shocked by this?

How big is the toilet paper pack?
I bought it on discount- buy 1 get 2 free.I got so much for $10 that would not have been able to take it out without a car.
Sushi is $4.99 on certain days in giant. I only buy then.
Chili? Can me made for a lot less at home, same with sandwich.

The one food I would avoid when on sale is SUSHI.

Rice and beans have always been extremely cheap.

I'm not so poor that I have to eat only rice and beans and canned tomatoes. I did that in my grad student days.

Inflation in the supermarkets has been real and serious in the last two years.

I was shocked to see that beans are now nearly $4/can. And good soup is $4-6.

Add in a dozen eggs and you’ll be at $60

OP, I went to Whole Foods and spent $25 on something they called the Keto Family meal. It was several slices of broiled salmon and a bunch of sweet potatoes, broccoli, green beans. I added a baguette and we got meals for three people from it, plus two lunches. I thought it was much better and cheaper than takeout.

OP, this is $42, not $50.

Ok, I get it, prepared foods right - BUT I used to go to Whole Foods and get chili and sandwich and sushi (for 2) for $15 for lunch for two. How can grocery store sushi be $9?? So now it’s cheaper to go to chipotle than the grocery store for lunch? And the tp price!! Come on.
When?

There is no time in this world that you got sushi gif 2 from Whole Foods for $15 let alone a sandwich and chili also.

Haha! This was my exact thought.

This is the dumbest OP thread.

+1 Seriously, buying day old grocery store sushi is asking to have to lay on the bathroom floor for 12 hours.

You have lived in a make believe world, but nice try at a fake story. Sushi for 2, chili and a sandwich for $15! Maybe you went to the first Whole Foods when it opened in 1980 at those prices!

Where are beans $4 a can? They are .72 a can at Lidl and .79 a can at Harris Teeter. Soup is definitely expensive but once you start making your own, you’ll never go back. My teens used love certain canned soups. After homemaking soup for a few years, I recently bought some canned, knowing we’d have a few rushed afternoons, and they said it was garbage.

You will Save a ton of money, have a massive amount for days, and having it 1000x tastier by making it yourself. Get an instapot (not evaporation of the liquid) and get prechopped items if you are rushed.

Eggs have fallen in price.

We went to grocery store and got $400 worth of food which will easily last 3 weeks. This includes meats, too.
