This is crazy! I’m kind of in shock.
Tp - $ 20 Sushi - $9 Chili - $6 Sandwich $7 I mean it’s restaurant prices from a few years ago. Am I crazy to be shocked by this? |
| Um sushi has been $9 for a while. A $7 sandwich is normal. Tp depends o the size. You didn't get groceries, you got prepared food that was made at a grocery store. |
|
I mean, you didn't buy groceries. You got takeout food and you paid takeout prices.
Re the tp, that depends on brand and how much you got. Prices are going up, but this is not a good example of that, tbh. Enjoy your lunch. |
| Prepared foods are more expensive. |
Hi five to the other 13:15. We were thinking the same thing and typing at the same time. |
+100 Your title of the post is misleading too. And it doesn't add up to $50 (more like $40). |
Cut out the middle man and use $1 bills for tp! We do it. It save money! |
I thought that this thread was going to discuss how you got significant discounts using coupons. |
Ok, I get it, prepared foods right - BUT I used to go to Whole Foods and get chili and sandwich and sushi (for 2) for $15 for lunch for two. How can grocery store sushi be $9?? So now it’s cheaper to go to chipotle than the grocery store for lunch? And the tp price!! Come on. |
There is no time in this world that you got sushi gif 2 from Whole Foods for $15 let alone a sandwich and chili also. |
| For not gif |
| Echo all the others- these aren't groceries. |
lololol |
| I can buy a week's worth of groceries at Trader Joe's for $50, and I live in San Francisco. Here's my tip: don't buy prepared foods or sushi if you want your money to go further. |
Rice and beans have always been extremely cheap. I'm not so poor that I have to eat only rice and beans and canned tomatoes. I did that in my grad student days. Inflation in the supermarkets has been real and serious in the last two years. |
