I had it done in atlanta when I was living there, but you can google and find lots of places that do them. I think it was something like 250 for a package of 3...the idea being that you go back and see if you've improved (esp in terms of fat and muscle balance). I only did it twice and then we moved back to dc. Buthere's one place, for example: https://dexascan.com/locations/usa/virginia/body-mass-composition-testing-arlington/ |
Thank you! What exactly happens when get this done. Is it like those scanning machines at the airport? You stand there with your arms and legs out? |
There’s a scan part of it but you also breathe into a tube. |
I’m 5’2” 120 last time I was at the Dr. a few months ago. I don’t weigh myself at home. I’m 50 and have been between 115-120 for decades. It’s taking more work to remain the same size as I get older. I judge by how my clothes fit.
I don’t count calories. I eat fairly well during the week and whatever I want on weekends. Oatmeal with cinnamon and vanilla for breakfast each day. Some sort of sandwich for lunch and yogurt. Some sort of protein and vegetable for dinner. I don’t snack at all. I work out 5 days a week. Either running, OrangTheory, F45 or weight training on my own. |
I'm barely 5' and have been losing weight. I just move around more, and eat high fiber foods when I can, like oatmeal in the morning, pasta with high fiber and protein, popcorn lightly salted and buttered. I don't eat huge meals because it gives me heartburn, but I don't calorie count. I'm not a huge dessert person, but I do eat a tiny bit of ice cream now and then and some cookies.
I now weigh 111lbs (just checked this morning). I was 127 at my heaviest (not counting pregnancy) at 48. I'm now 52. |
