Every time I see a little boy with a buzz cut, I assume at least one of his parents are in the military. |
I think Republican, Tea Party, or Westboro Baptist Church. |
I'm the one with three little boys with buss cuts. Honestly, they look adorable in them. We are not military nor do they have "flat tops" which is more of a marine style I think. We are Republican but that has nothing to do with it. It costs $15 plus tip per cut per kid. That is way too expensive for me to do as frequently as they need it even if it was longer. A couple of years ago I bought a good electric razor with some metal guards and do it myself every two weeks. Costs nothing and they always looked groomed.
Do the little boys with long hair get their hair cut to shape it to look good long or do you just let it grow and grow? I wish I had the talent to cut my sons' hair. I had three little Ashton Kutchers if I did. |
I personally am not a fan. But there is something to be said about helping your kids develop their own sense of style and preferences. |
Where I come from, it's common for the boys to get buzz cuts each summer. It's practical and socially acceptable. |
A lot of it has to do with whether or not they have "good hair." Even on kids that young (boys or girls), thin, stringy hair that grows out too long looks terrible. |
Funny, DS has longer hair, its curly so we let the curls come in but not long like a girls and we are extremely conservative. |
My DS is 15 and his hair was getting quite long. Not long enough for a ponytail (which he had for one day in 4th grade). He has beautiful, silky hair with nice waves. Today he came home with an "almost" buzz cut. He walked to the barber shop and had them cut it. It is more sensible for summer and swim team. |
Cute to you, not cute to people who like long hair. |
Same here, and we're lefty-left liberals. I just like how it looks buzzed, and it helps keep him cool at the height of summer. Plus he's got poker-straight hair that stands up if it's not nearly to his ears. There's a little place I take him that does it for $10 - I can give him a very standard buzz at home, but they'll shape it a little, keep it longer on top, etc. |
17:41 again.
(cough) My son had a buzz cut until he was old enough to express a desire to grow it out. He looks cute both ways, IMO. Re: the hair maintenance someone mentioned and how little boys don't brush their own hair, it's true. But, it would be the same issue with a long haired girl that age, so I don't really consider it a big deal. |
17:41 one more time
...oh...forgot to mention...the long hair is actually a grown-out mohawk. ...carry on. |
My son's got long hippy hair, but I like buzz cuts on other kids. |
I keep my sons' hair short so other people don't notice that I don't brush it. |
There are boys in on our neighborhood (4 and 6) with very long hair- past their shoulders. People think they are girls. The parents think that they are much hipper than everyone else. |
