Niche isn’t really the end-all even though everyone’s obsessed over this list. Just like US news and world report is not the end-all for colleges.. |
Exactly. Meanwhile, their children are out on their own. |
Rank based on what? And why not just include all the girls schools (like Stone Ridge and Holy Child and others) |

Please explain how Visi, Stone Ridge or Holy Cross are above Madeira? We worked with a counselor last year and this was her ranking below.
NCS Holton Madeira Stone Ridge Visitation Huge cliff Holy Cross Madeira - Average SAT 1360, Average ACT 31 Visitation - SAT 1330, ACT 30 Stone Ridge - SAT 1300, ACT 31 Holy Cross - Average SAT - 1230, Average ACT 29 |
LoL Holy Child. |
Seriously? I think it is fabulous that there are so many options for us in the DMV area. I know many girls who went through Holy Child. It is a lovely nurturing place that caters to girls of all academic abilities. They also have a very strong center for girls with learning differences. |
Yeah, I'm getting a bit tired of this myself. As to the person who shared SAT scoring data -thank you. 100 point difference in average SAT scores doesn't seem that huge to me in and of itself...does it seem like a huge differentiator to everyone else? I would be curious about ACT and many other measures before deciding about a school. I went to a school with kids of all academic abilities and many are very successful, taking very different roads including arts. |
| Oh sorry... I see ACT was posted. Yes, the don't seem that different to me. If anything, I might worry that the NCS students overly focused on test prep and.missed out on other academic passions? |
Agree. I went to Visi. |
