Why do you think she buzzed him in? |
You can see her let him in on the video, and then she clearly says “…after I buzzed him in…”. Not victim blaming, but yes, no buzzing people in or tailgating. This is why. The rare chance that the person is up to no good. |
I saw her on the news this morning. She said she thought he was a resident who forgot his keys. It happens. She is very lucky. |
If you read the article you would learn she recognized him from her apartment building. But good job victim blaming. And if she hadn't let him in she would have been labeled a huge racist. |
|
He looks high as a kite and was slow on his feet. She's lucky he wasn't a stronger, more determined attacker.
This is why women prefer not to go places alone. |
The video show her going over to the door and letting him in. Women need to stop being nice. Nice gets you killed. If he lived in her complex then he can go back to his apartment to get his access card. Now obviously women deserve to workout, walk, run and do a million other things without getting attacked, but that is not the world we live in. |
Nowhere in the linked video does it say she recognized him from her apartment complex. |
| US is. Dangerous place for women. |
+1 Just don't be alone with a man in certain situations. Not victim blaming, but there are some real creeps out there, as you can see from this board sometimes, and also from this video. |
+1. I don't think it's victim-blaming to note that she let him in. She didn't just buzz him in - she went to the door from the other side of the gym and opened it for him. Her attacker (consciously or subconsciously) was relying on the social conditioning that makes us feel uncomfortable for not being "nice" and helping someone out by letting them in the door. It's worthwhile to think about that in relation to your safety. |
Yes he looks out of it. Slow reaction time and takes forever making his plan. Makes the video look surreal. Wonder why neither of them grabbed weights. Have not seen an attacker be so casual and slo-mo about it. There doesn't seem to be much use of force. |
This is dumb. She's not the receptionist at the apartment gym. She's a resident. The access card is a safety and security measure. You have an access card if you in fact HAVE ACCESS. He didn't. His race isn't the issue here. |

For your young girls teach them to kick hard in the balls and stab into the eyes (if possible) hit the vulnerable parts hard, quick, and run. knees or neck are also good.

He would have just raped her in the hallway when she left. |
I thought about this but if she grabbed a weight and he grabbed it from her she could be dead. I think the fight to get away stuff she did is the smartest way. |
