Search YouTube for a 20 minute no equipment workout - preferably one geared toward beginners. If you don’t have time to do the whole thing, do what you have time for and try to finish the rest later in the day. If you’re out of shape and start off with 10 minutes of nurses, there’s a good chance you’ll be miserable, so I’d work up toward more intensity. |
OP, can you incorporate exercise in anything you do on a regular basis? Like can you walk to the store instead of drive? I have found that small changes like that add up quickly and can create a habit of movement in your day. |
Also think about flexible.
One meeting a day I do sitting on the floor. Google floor sitting flexibility. I do 90 degree sitting, criss cross, W sitting, I try to do each position for 3 minutes. Google 100 push-ups program It takes 5-10 minutes a day. I’m weak and I git up to 40 push-ups. |
PP, thanks for this. Very structured and don’t have to think about it. I will do everything except replace the 10 min run with a 30 min brisk walk. |
OP — Thanks again for sharing your experience, you’ve given me lots to work with! |
Thank you! All these people giving advice and they don't even know what her goals are. If it's just to get her off her butt, then you did a good job. Otherwise, kind of pointless. |
Sounds great! Warning, 80 squats is hard!!! |
Can you squeeze in a brisk 10 minute walk-jog around your neighborhood? |
Rowing machine - great full body workout, even if you only have time for a short workout. |
Is spending 15 minutes to walk fast too much for you to do?
What do you do at lunch time? You could also get up every hour to move for 5 minutes. In those 5 minutes, you can set 1 minute to do one type of exercise like stretches, squats, punch the air. Anything. Surely, you can think of some movement. Can't do it every hour? How about every 2 hours? I think if you can't find 15 minutes to do something related to your health in a day, you need to reprioritize things in your life. |
+1 although it's an investment of $/space and has a learning curve, but it's the best low impact full body workout. OTOH there are some great high intensity body weight exercises you can do with no equipment as PPs mentioned. |
