The victim was a 64 year old mechanic. He intervened and lost his life. Damn.

The shooter sounded absolutely nuts from witness accounts in the Wapo article, and had shot at other people as well. Mental illness mixed with easy access access to guns.

What a weird take. The shooter was on a bus, and there’s a good chance he got on it in a different ward. Read the article. His shooting spree continued in the metro station.

DC makes it both difficult to own a gun legally, AND gun crimes are regularly pled down to nothing. Does anyone else see a contradiction? We also do NOTHING in this city to address mental illness. So sorry for the family of the dead and injured.
