There should be consequences for breaking school rules. When I went to MCPS kids would get detention, suspended and expelled. There were consequences and the severe ones meant that parents had to take action with their kids. I remember when the this trouble maker was suspended for a week. It was great to be in a class with out having the disruption. When he returned he was better behaved, not perfect at all, but he knew the school wasn't joking around. I also believe that central office, the school board or whoever is in charge should also face consequences for their decisions and inaction.

Maybe they need to raise taxes to fund a kid jail where these rule-breakers get sent!!

Move to a red state OP

MD is not lowering taxes.

Nor is any red state as a matter of fact taxpayers in those states need to make up shortfalls for Trump's election deniers crazies, and Trump's visits you see don the con never paid his bills.

So you see OP you need a math class or just move to Russia you will be so much happier

I never understand why bocce is on this list, at all.

They had a school for kids with challenging needs. Mark Twain? I don’t remember the name of the school. I don’t know why it was closed down.

Superintendent needs to resign.

Why exactly?

Far too much chaos on her watch. She is clearly an incompetent leader. Thank you next. Let's get someone better to get this system under control and our kids safely educated.

Because she doesn't have the confidence of parents or MCPS educators.

What if all of these people are duds?

The Supe seems more interested in PR than running a safe school system with high academic standards.

People deserve what they vote for.

The only people that send their kids to public school are the poor, overwhelmed or unaware of their surroundings. It’s child abuse in my opinion.

Did you see that 94% of MCPS Educators voted that they have no confidence in MCPS leadership?

https://www.mymcmedia.org/mcea-members-almost-unanimously-support-no-confidence-vote-against-mcps-leadership/

“The members of MCEA declare that we have no confidence in the ability of current members of the Montgomery County Board of Education or Interim Superintendent Monifa McKnight to effectively address the current crisis in our schools caused by the effects of COVID-19. MCPS leadership has consistently shown a dereliction of duty and a lack of competence. We demand immediate action to address our concerns.”

Did you see the thread on here where issues pertaining to "Honors for all" in schools has led to lower standards and poorer outcomes for all? Teachers and parents weighed in.

Have you seen the numerous news incidents of violence, substance, shootings, stabbings and drug overdoses happening on MCPS property?

Are you awake? Do you have a pulse?

Fox News is not covering MCPS. They're more focused on San Francisco, LA, Chicago and New York.
