Is this the old Planet Fitness location behind Eden center?

Cool upgrade but not a place OP should visit at 1am unless she looks like the men in the pictures (ie, big and strong enough no one will mess with them, I mean)

Yes - that's the location. I'm laughing now looking at the photos because the coworker I know who loves it is a rather small woman (who is very into fitness).

I feel like their cardio invokes wrenches… no sissy elliptical machines.

Equinox in Tyson Corner is the best one but also quite expensive. Lifetime Athletic is also very good but not at the level of Equinox, just a step below Equinox. Onelife in McLean and Tyson Corner is also good but it is one step below Lifetime. Everything else is trash, IMHO.

If your employer is part of Gympass, the membership for Equinox, with gympass, is about $149/month, $89/month for Lifetime Athletic. You can cancel the membership at anytime ONLINE and don't have to deal with the hassle with someone on the phone to convince you not to cancel your membership.

If your employer is part of Gympass, the membership for Equinox, with gympass, is about $149/month, $89/month for Lifetime Athletic. Onelife does not have a partnership with Gympass but membership is around $90/month with a 12 months contract. With gympass, you can go to any gym that are partners with gympass. In other words, with $149/month membership, I can go to Equinox one day and Lifetime the next day. Gympass does have a vast partners with gyms.

Everything else is trash, IMHO.

Irongym or Tyson's Playground are not trash if you care about lifting and not saunas and mint scented towels..

Gold's Metro DC is great but I haven't been to the Ballston location. Bailey's crossroads is the nicest, largest and most convenient with parking so I usually head there even though I can walk to Rosslyn. They drop deals regularly to make the membership only $50 per month

Oh wow that is a nice gym in Bailey crossroad. It’s an old superstore so huge. And plenty of parking. Good option over Ballston and it’s Fury Road parking lot.

Okay I think OP should have specified fitness center vs gym — those two are old school weight training gyms updated for new era, but much more serious and quite expensive for a specialized service.

Argh its tough, Golds is about $55 while onelife is $79 - so a $24 difference (50% more!). I really like what OneLife offers as far as pool, nicer and cleaner facilities, but they are a little further away, and who knows maybe I'll just end up on an elliptical machine watching movies 99% of the time (I'm trying to restart healthy living as I've hit obese BMI and a myrid of health issues, so baby steps).

Golds is 15 min while OneLife is 20 -- nothing is closer other than YMCA, which apparently closes at freaking 8pm???

Agree, looks great. Does anyone have experience with the kids club at this gym? For what ages it is? At which hours? How much is it?

Onelife is $79!? I joined six months ago it was $39 for one gym, $49 for all gyms.

For just elliptical access I would stick to Planet Fitness for $10, just to see if you will use it.

$49 for all gyms at Onelife? I asked them about it six months ago at Onelife in McLean and they said there was no such thing. I even called the corporate office and they also confirmed no such thing. I ended up paying $79/month.

Yes, I signed up at the Germantown gym (by Wegmans). There was a huge sign that said $49 a month. It's definitely a thing. I'll look to see if it's still there, I only chose that one by chance. It's not my main gym, but sometimes go there based on class schedule.

Put in your zip as 20879. That's Germantown Basic- $39 a month + $79 one time set up fee. Or Germantown Premier for $49 a month with a one time set up fee of $79. Premier also gives access to Onelife Anywhere on Demand programs. I've used that when I had family members with Covid and couldn't get out of the house.

Are you confusing the set up fee with the monthly fee? If not, it would be worth it to set up your account in Germantown and save $360 a year.

Kids Club is $20 a month per kid, but you can take them every day. I thought that was a reasonable flat rate.

I put in my McLean zip code and it comes up with $79/month for McLean Basic and $89/month for Mclean Premier.

Also want to add that with the Onelife McLean basic plan, I also get access to all gyms for $79/month.

The One Life locations that used to be Sport & Health (and switched late last year), are "premier" locations and cost more.

The long-time OL locations are cheaper. I've been paying $39/mo for multiclub.

But the inconsistency is so weird. Some gyms provide big towels free, some make you sign up for a towel fee. Some have pools, others don't, and the price does not seem to match up to amenities. I think it's purely based on the leasing price the gyms pay.
