| He’s a fake. But if he re-aligned himself as a moderate Republican (with his short political history, I think he could pull it off), I think he could give DeSantis a scare for the GOP nom. |
A lot of people on this forum were saying they were voting for Youngkin but would vote Dem for federal offices. |
I gladly voted for my Democratic incumbent in Congress in NoVa. He has some seniority and foreign policy expertise and he's avoided getting heavily involved in overtly partisan battles. That was the only ballot I could cast. If our clueless, incompetent Democratic School Board representatives were on the ballot this year, I would gladly have kicked them to the curb, but I'll have to wait until next year. And when there's an election for the state Senate and House of Delegates next year, I'll consider candidates from both parties. |
Guessing you didn't vote for him. |
Both of my independent parents feel the same. They have voted both D and R in past elections (Bush, Clinton, Bush, Obama, Trump/Clinton/ Biden). They were split with Youngkin - one for, one against - but both voted D for all elections this year because the R candidates were election deniers and anti-abortion. Those are two points they feel strongly about. |
And he sent Nancy Pelosi a note of apology privately rather than apologize to her in public. A real profile in courage right there. |
but it's been touted on CNN's homepage all day. I hate the guy, but I'm afraid this was rather brilliant. |
+1 People aren't angry about the pandemic anymore so the flaws of the GOP are much more apparent. |
And he didn’t do it until after the election. The profile in courage take is the correct one. |
I read he sent it November 1. Why it is only being reported now who knows? |
Forgive me, you're correct. Statement from his office released today. |
| Youngkin's success in VA is reliant on there being controversial school board issues in Northern Virginia or major media coverage of crazy progressive issues in schools. Oh, and the women who care about those issues will have to care about school problems more than reproductive rights. |
Oh wow - that was certainly some creative fiction. Please do give us examples of the bolded. We'll wait while you make something up. DP |
Exactly this. These are the very bitter people who *still* haven't gotten over the fact that the Democrat lost. It's amusing to see their wildly inaccurate portrayal of Glenn Youngkin, who - by all accounts - is an inclusive, kind, personable gentleman. Very glad he's our governor and not slick Terry. |
Advocating school choice is not "trying to gut public education," you twit. And the bolded? Do us a favor and stop lying. Thanks so much. |
