My 5 year old does this occasionally. Or makes his own lunch on the weekend. Usually a tortilla with nut butter and toppings like fruit, granola, etc. I don’t find it sad… |

Well I do. And there’s a big difference between making a simple lunch on the weekend and making your own dinner at age 6. I’m a kindergarten teacher and a mom of much older children so maybe that’s it. |

| Falafel & pita (TJs, frozen), salad, feta, tzatziki, hummus. We eat it once a week at least. Quick, easy, delicious. |

hot dogs salad fries/tater tots/chips pancakes bacon crescent rolls rolled up with jones chicken sausage links served with fruit and milk fish sticks rice green beans (fish stick air fryer, rice in rice cooker, green beans microwaved) eat out frozen burritos with fruit - breakfast kind or steak/chicken bean and cheese BLTs using costco pre cooked bacon, add avocado if on hand ham or turkey sandwich leftover chili/soup in freezer rotisserie chicken salad/cut up raw veggies plus a microwave mac and cheese |
Was thinking same. Those are normal meals for us. A no effort/just can’t is ordering in or tossing a pbj or Lunchable on table for kid with random fruit; and hummus and tortilla chips for me. |

Once I had a bad migraine and was trying to nap in a dark room while my head was pounding and I was nauseous. My 10 yr old came in and whispered "What should we have for dinner?" for him and his 5 yr old sister.
I said, "Eat some cantaloupe and have one of those doughnuts." They were happy. |
