Middle aged woman acted like my innocuous French Bulldog was a pitbull. Weird?

I assume most outdoorsy people walking on a trail (with a lot of dogs on it) probably like dogs. Outside of scary dogs like pitbulls.

I hate dogs and am outside a lot. I find it infuriating that so many dog owners ruin trails by not keeping dogs leashed and/or picking up their crap. I go with my kids a lot. My son is allergic so please don’t let your dogs run up to everyone. Do better!

I pick up 100% of dog waste. I recently even picked up someone else’s that was right next to the waste my dog made!

Scared of 20-25 pound Frenchy? That's a bit much, I think.

You really can't imagine a world in which another person is afraid of a dog

Yes. Stay home.

Yup, troll.

Brachycephalic breeds should be phased out anyway. They are cruel by design. And the woman certainly wasn’t rude. People are allowed to be afraid of dogs.

Dogs (non scary ones) on trails > people smoking skunk dope and people blasting music on Bluetooth and iPhone speakers on trails

A small cute dog? No. First time. That’s why I asked if some people simply can’t differentiate? I’m honestly not sure.

Little kids that are afraid of my 12 lb shih tzu do crack me up but of course I am respectful and hold him tight.

I’m not the PP but Wow. You are a horrible, horrible dog owner.

You know what they say about assumptions

Could be a troll, could be the same oblivious OP. Hard to tell sometimes.

Right? The point of a phobia is that it may not be 100 percent rational. Or maybe the woman has had a terrible experience with a small "cute" dog. And just because it's cute-looking doesn't mean it won't bite.

Yes op some people are afraid of dogs. Don’t let your dog approach someone!

Why would you assume that? I assume people who go to dog parks like dogs. I assume that people who are outside walking on a trail like hiking, not that they like dogs. And even if they do like dogs in general, they might not like dogs on retractable leashes or otherwise not under their owner's control.

I hate retractable leashes. And yes, some people are afraid of all dogs.

Haven’t you posted before being miffed that not everyone absolutely loves your French bulldog?

I hate those dogs. Ugly, smelly poorly bred things.
