headlights... you do not need to use your brights(hi-beams) during the day, and if someone in front of you is tapping their brakes repeatedly but not slowing down. check to see if you brights are on.

if you miss your turn. its ok to continue driving until the next opportunity comes up to make a turn and double back. Don't stop in the traffic lane with your turn signal on.... Yes i'm talking to you ladies trying to get into tysons from 123

put the phone down. if my 25K ford has blue tooth, yes your 100K mecedes has it as well. have your kid set it up for ya. you do look like an idiot holding you cell phone like a walkie talkie

I have literally never heard of this, although admittedly I almost never drive with my high beams on. I thought the "high beams" that are so annoying these days are just those crazy new headlights some people use.

DP, I don’t think that first tip is a thing. If you are blinded by an oncoming car’s high beams, you can flash your lights. You don’t tap your brake repeatedly because someone behind you has their lights on. And it is fine to have regular lights on during the day.

Your last paragraph indicates you are an jackass so everything else you say is devalued.

PSA if you're turning left/right.

When I do that (tap my brakes without slowing down) it's because my parents taught me that's what you do when the person behind you is tailgating you and you want them to get off your a$$. Is that incorrect?

I think that many US drivers don't honestly understand this concept. Is it taught in driver's ed?

Many US drivers think you are supposed to merge when you see the merge sign not at the merge so if you wait all the way to the end and then merge they think you’re putting in line

For this

Yellow: Proceed with caution; you have the right of way. If unnecessarily stop, you're creating a hazard.

You must slow down enough to see if there is traffic coming and can not assume the red light facing car will stop, especially at 1-5 am

It's also a sign of people who drive with one foot on each pedal.

Unfortunately too many people in our area are always in a hurry, and think they're special. So special that the rules don't apply to them.

If you are being tailgated, move to a right-hand lane. If you are on a two-lane road, slow down a bit at the next passing opportunity so the other car can pass you.

Not sure what tapping your brakes will accomplish other than further pissing off the person who is tailgating you.

I’ve actually wondered about this and asked people and was told there is no “correct” answer. It’s even more confusing when turning from two lanes into three— do both cars take the two inside lanes or do they leave the middle lane open?

I just slow down gradually until they back off if I can’t move to the right or otherwise get out of the way. If they’re tailgating on a 2 lane road where I live the roads are windy and don’t have passing opportunities and I’m not going to speed up since I’m probably already speeding.

Of course there's a correct answer. You turn into the lane that's closed to you. If there's a middle lane, you keep it clear. You can merge into it after you turn into "your" turn lane, but no one turns into the middle lane.

I sincerely don't understand how this is confusing or debatable to anyone.

Well, important anyway. Very self-important.

NP. I never took drivers ed. It's not a requirement or even offered in most states. I read the manual and then took a test. My parents taught me how to drive and signed off that I had the correct amount of hours.

What do you mean by drivers’ ed not not even being offered in most states? Do you just mean via public schools? Because everyone I grew up with took private lessons, and we were not rich.

Drivers’ ed should be required everywhere, it’s ridiculous that it’s not.

Pp here. Drivers Ed just wasn’t offered in my school. I don’t know of a single person who hired a private driving teacher. My parents were well off too. They did teach me how to drive well. I’m not one of the idiots on the road around here.

Yes, that’s incorrect.
