Sure, Jan. Name your school. Name the grade levels supposedly soo in love with this. We will wait. |
+100. Imagine teaching it to high schoolers. Complete nightmare. They see right through it |
|
Luckily our school administrators recognise how bad it is and they minimize how much we end up teaching it. Occasionally we go through a lesson but that is it. I cannot believe MCPS shelled out a couple million for this garbage.
We have kids who could have benefited from free lunch but instead of that, MCPS wastes money on useless things. As a teacher, it is completely infuriating |
Everyone at our school thought it was amazing! People loved it, especially the kids. I think you must be going about it all wrong. |
Really? Everyone? I would hope your entire school wasn’t sucked into this cult like thinking. What school are you at where everyone thinks this? |
There’s no way to go about this mind numbing curriculum “wrong.” It’s super easy to teach. People with brains realize it’s garbage. Glad you’re sooo into it but I guarantee you, your students are not. You sound delusional or you’re actually a LIM trainer in disguise. |
Warning! Haha! Yep, the program is crap and many teachers were already talking about the power of yet. Don’t need an expensive program to figure out that lesson. |
There's one poster who got it in for this program so keeps posting about ti but it's totally a fine program. In fact, my kids actually liked it. |
|
One poster?
Did you miss the part about mcps paying upwards of $2M for this curriculum that is sold by Franklin Covey, a for profit corporation? Did you miss the part about it’s grounding in Mormonism? I’m more concerned about the price tag. |
|
I 100% think teachers are in no position to teach leadership.
OTOH, I hire 20 something’s in Montgomery county and the 1st 5 years of training involve communication, leadership and Franklin Covey for becoming organized and efficient. But I agree you are not qualified to teach it. Kids should go to these classes by qualified staff. |
Great sock puppetry by the team that probably bought this crap. Sad how MCPS is going downhill |
You don’t think teachers are capable of teaching.. leadership? Seek homeschool then. Yikes. No one needs to be “qualified” to teach this complete bs. Anyone with a functioning brain could easily teach it and also realize how stupid it is at the same time. |
| “You watched video games for three hours- what could you have done differently?” Fifth grade response: ummm not played video games for three hours? What kind of question is this?” Yes, it’s supposed to create a discussion but most kids are smarter than this…. They know they are so they don’t buy in. The lone teacher praising this here? I’m worried about you and your students. I’m glad my students recognize bs when they see it. |
Yes just like I f’ing think an English teacher should teach math. Teachers are not leaders. Clearly OP can’t teach it. It’s a solid program and needed if taught properly. Really? How many teachers do you know that are actual leaders? |
^^^ Lol this is how you DONT teach it. |
