RFK Stadium home of the Commanders?

I think so too. Billionaire Dan Snyder is radioactive, particularly to the DC government.

I can see DC underwriting some special purpose bonds if it's the right ownership group and the owners agree to redevelopment of the land.

As such, it won't happen.

I beg to differ -- it would only happen if the stadium would be built at no cost to Danny. And that he never had to pay a dime. That will not happen so no deal.

Seriously though -- too much crime right now in DC to be viable for anything. Also they would want the stadium right downtown and that is not possible.

Pretty sure parts of PG county (including where the current stadium is) are the same as Ward 6.

DC can't just underwrite special purpose bonds like that...hence another reason for statehood.

If you think DC is dangerous, you clearly weren't here for the 90s

If they think DC is dangerous they clearly aren't here...now. In 2022. Oh no, crime is up! Your chance of being mugged went from 0.000001% to 0.00001%! Definitely something worth freaking out over!

I honestly don't know how people aren't utterly embarrassed by publicly admitting things like they won't go to DC because there's too much crime. A hundred thousand 90lb blue haired liberal "snowflakes" are living it up, enjoying their lives perfectly safe in DC meanwhile big tough "Oakleys and goatee in my F-150" Facebook profile pic dudes are not only crapping their pants in fear at the thought of crossing the Potomac, they're actually proud of crapping their pants in fear at the thought of crossing the Potomac as if that's not the most pathetic, cowardly thing you could imagine.

Exactly. Crime is not keeping anyone away. DC doesn't need another stadium. No one is going to VA. Good luck!

They will move to NoVa somewhere. Not DC.

the virginia general assembly already signaled they weren’t going to fund the expensive project, it will probably stay in MD. Besides the proposed locations are ludicrous, Arlington, Alexandria or Fairfax fine, but Prince William and Loudoun, really? Some of the proposed sites especially near Manassas feel like you’re in the south because of how far out you are. At least the current site is less then 30 from downtown DC.

Nope. Not to RFK. Hopefully not.

I agree. If Dan sells, all bets are off. Which kind of sucks because I don't want a new NFL stadium at RFK. Build housing and parks there. Not a giant football stadium.

RFK was a great stadium for football & concerts and easy to get to!

The council already said it’s a nonstarter to use tax dollars for an NFL stadium.

Bezos could build the stadium in DC!

So what? I want a RFK property for DC residents and not suburban fans.
