| Are they moving to RFK is that why its being torn down? |
| they are not moving to DC |
|
It would only happen if the stadium were the centerpiece of a massive affordable housing and new commercial area neighborhood where Danny pays for everything but the land and infrastructure. No surface parking lots, a lot of neighborhood amenity.
As such, it won't happen. |
| It will happen if we get a new owner. |
I beg to differ -- it would only happen if the stadium would be built at no cost to Danny. And that he never had to pay a dime. That will not happen so no deal. Seriously though -- too much crime right now in DC to be viable for anything. Also they would want the stadium right downtown and that is not possible. |
They will move to NoVa somewhere. Not DC. |
| RFK is on federal land |
| No |
psst, there is more crime, per capita, in the suburbs. |
Have fun Ubering out to Woodbridge for your football games! |
+1 Maryland has two teams, the commanders and the ravens. Earlier this summer the governor said that tax money wasn’t going to pay for a new commander stadium. That led to speculation that the commanders would move to Northern Virginia, which I think will eventually happen. Their name changed to the commanders was also towing in that they want to align themselves closer to the Pentagon. |
| DC is too dangerous for the Fake Redskins. |
If you think DC is dangerous, you clearly weren't here for the 90s |
Woodbridge is going to be a huge mess if they build down there. |
I guarantee there was more crime in D.C. when the team was playing at RFK in the 1980s and 1990s than there is now, including right near the stadium. Absolutely bonkers to say too much crime would stop the team from moving there if they got a sweet deal. Most people who go to those games just drive in, park, and drive home. |
