Op here. I'm not so sure about this. My weight has been consistent since age 30 but my breasts have not. Maybe it's weight redistribution. I've also had 3 kids. |
| I’m going to do something similar. I have to have a double mastectomy and reconstruction. I’m a DD or E right now. I can’t wait to be done with these things. I’ve been schlepping them around for like 25 years. I’m sorry for my DH, who loves them, but he will just have to get used to perky C cups. Go for it, OP. |
| I am 53 and scheduled for breast lift ( no implant) this Thursday. . I have long thought about it and do feel a bit vain doing it, but finally pulled the trigger. It will make wearing certain clothes easier and just look a bit perkier. Will post afterwards and let u know, |
If your insurance paid, then it was a medical issue. Not clear if OP would qualify for this—although she does say her bra straps dig into her shoulders, which is one of the things insurers look for when deciding whether or not it’s medically indicated. |
| I know women who have had breast reductions in their 40s, 50s and 60s. Not one of them has regretted it. |
This PP has no idea what they’re talking about. I had breast reduction surgery in my 40s. Best. Decision. Ever. |

OP here.
My weight has been stable for 15 years and I'm about a size 6. I eat healthily and I don't drink--there's not a lot to cut out of my diet---I'm pretty religious about eating well as it is which I think is what has led to no weight gain from 30-48. Let's say I hardcore dieted. Will the weight come out of my breasts? I'm not rail thin and have pounds elsewhere on my body and always have (thighs, butt, arms, etc). |
|
I dont know a single person who regretted a reduction or lift.
Know several who regret implants. They are two totally different surgeries and people who havent had unwanted big boobs really have no idea |
| My post-mascetomy reconstruction is smaller than my original chest size and I think easier to dress, FWIW (DD to C). |
I stand corrected then. I guess you must have lost weight elsewhere on your body then. I wasn’t aware breasts changed that way. |
OP here. I have probably lost muscle weight. Who knows. My body has changed in subtle and not-so-subtle ways as I've inched towards 50. But my chest has grown noticeably. UGH. For better or worse, I never lost any breast volume after breastfeeding 3 kids. I ended up a relatively perky B/C. I was the lowest weight I've ever been after weaning my third and yet my breasts were larger than pre-pregnancy by about 1/2 cup size. https://www.peanut-app.io/blog/why-are-my-breasts-getting-bigger-after-menopause Looks like it can be weight redistribution as well as weight gain. |
| I had a reduction at 45 as a heavy person. It’s been life changing. Had tummy tuck and lipo too. I’m no beach body but I sure enjoy my life a lot more now. |

Breasts do continue to grow and sag- that's a no-brainer.
OP, the way you describe how you feel- that was me at 16. I had a reduction without pause. They grew and I had another at 22. Clothes did not fit/look good. Any other 'imperfections' I may have been aware of did not bother me/were not on my radar, but the breast thing was all-consuming. Larger breasts make you look dowdy- especially on a short frame if you are not wearing tight clothes all the time (which I never was at 16 or 22). 48 now and likely getting another reduction/lift in a couple years when my kids are a little older. |
| I'm 47 and also thinking of a lift. I plan to be in this body for another at least 40 years, so why not enjoy it? |
