'Some' does not equal 'everyone'. In any event, I found a website helpful for posters that struggle like you. https://www.merriam-webster.com/ |
marked absences vs. COVID. kids with health need will prefer absences if email is not received in time. I have to wonder what kind of planning and preparation is this? |
I don't understand your comments. MCPS was safe for your kids to be in person last year, so why is it different this year. They said they'd let people know in August. They have to firm up who is returning, how many slots they have, staffing, etc. Then, if there is not enough space, they have a waitlist as they did last year. If you child has medical issues, submit documentation. |
They screwed up last year not accepting many kids in VA and then 6 months later calling them up to join VA. Obviously the parents rejected as mask mandate was in place. This year, COVID is still in circulation but no mask mandate. How effective will the booster from 6 months ago be? No one knows. Risk reward does not make any sense |
They did not screw up. They had 3000 slots and took the priority families who submitted medical paperwork. If you failed to apply within the specified time or not provide medical documentation, that is on you, not them. But, you clearly had no issue sending your kids a year ago so why the drama now? Talk to the BOE for more funding for more slots. I suspect that some families (including us) who hoped to go back this fall are choosing to stay in VA because of the reasons you are saying and more. Some of us planned to wait till MCPS made their announcement on what fall will look like. |
And, as families transitioned out to in person, they took in more students to fill those spots. |
Where is the transparency in the process? What criteria do they use to accept or reject VA applicants? how do you know? and when will you know? Are they treating all students equally or give preference to certain group based on their politics? |
C'mon, this is 'Murica. It's not about politics. It's about the bribes you offer. |
Does anyone know if this is Paid Public relations pocketing tax monies? |
Give them a call and ask them. Simple. They went by the application order and priority. Those with medical documentation got priority. They have a huge range of students so I don't think they are rejecting anyone. If you want more students admitted, talk to the BOE for more funding. |
No one picks up the phone calls there. How does MCPS set the order and priority? does anyone know? What do you mean by "range" of students? What is BOE and how do you talk to them? |
You cannot be a part of MCPS if you are asking these questions. You should know what the BOE is. Yes, they pick up the phone. I've called multiple times and gone in person. Stop making up lies. |
I’m beginning to wonder who YOU are being paid by. I’m not one to assume anyone who disagrees with me is a troll, but it’s hard to believe anyone could be this clueless (and pointless). |
|
Assuming someone to know all the abbreviations used on DCUM is little ignorant. Also why is that for every question, some one (perhaps paid public relations) asks everyone to make a phone call? Why not just stay off the thread if you do not have any information? Why not allow other parents to provide information that they have? Why do you distract and divert conversations when someone is asking questions? |
