In North Carolina, first-degree murder is a Class A felony. A conviction of first-degree murder is punishable by life in prison or the death penalty. |
You know no one believes your lukewarm takes any more, right, forced birther? |
The bill says it would be legal to use deadly force against a pregnant woman if she tries to get an abortion. |
Yeah. And I don’t like it. Why do you think this is good policy? |
while I agree with out that the bill talks about charging a woman with murder if she choses to abort (and this should be shocking enough frankly - should the raped 10 yr old child be sentenced to death because after the rape she got pregnant and did not carry a very risky pregnancy to term????), but you are willfully blind when you accuse others to be hysteric . the Bill says clearly that murdering somebody doing an abortion would be legal as self defense. the Bill says: "Any person has the right to defend his or her own life or the life of another person even by the use of deadly force if necessary from willful destruction from another person". the Bill also defines a fertilized egg and then the developing fetus as a person. while i agree that, ironically, the Bill seems to say that the mother can then kill the fetus to defend herself (i a sure the idiot who wrote the Bill did not even realize it) but the clear message is that any person, so even a total stranger, can go into a clinic and find a doctor who is doing an abortion and use deadly force to "save" the fetus, i.e. killing the doctor or whoever is performing the abortion. so maybe you should read carefully too and no I am not histeric |
no, it says use of deadly force to prevent the abortion. i dont see a case where you kill the pregnant woman to prevent the abortion and save the fetus. if you kill the pregnant woman, you kill the fetus too so you kill two "persons" under this bill. the use of deadly force is directed to who does the abortion or assist. this bil is outrageous enough as written that we do not need to twist it. |
So someone could shoot my taxi driver, shoot my clinic escort, shoot the intake nurse, shoot the OB/gyn, and shoot me in the leg, if they thought I was getting an abortion. |
no, they are minors, but pregnant women should be able to claim dependent at the moment of conception, and also, use the carpool lane. FFS, Rs have completely gone nuts. These people are seriously f*up in the head. I was thinking about retiring in NC but that's out now. |
some crazy f*er could shoot first, then ask later. "Oops, my bad, I thought they were going to murder that zygot, but it looks like they were just gonna do an ultrasound. OOps." I mean.. what could go wrong. Once again, I am sooo glad we did not choose to move to NC or TX. We did consider it 10 years ago. |
| Women's heads on pikes around state buildings. That's where we'll end up with the insane Republicans trying to outdo one another on abortion. |
+1 The title should be changed by OP or mod. Regardless, Repubs gonna try the scorched earth approach to deflect from their party leaders circling the drain. |
That explanation does not make it any better you fool. Stay far away from NC. |

Fetal personhood laws a scary and would absolutely outlaw IVF. The would also Plan B and IUDs illegal. They give people the right to murder doctors, pharmacists at fertility clinics, pharmacists and clinics that provide IUDs and Plan B. They allow a rapist to grab a gun and kills the doctor and pharmacist to provide his victim Plan B. The Good Samaritan who. Gave he4 a ride to the hospital.
It’s such a wide reaching and stupid law. BuT ThAt’S nOt The LaW MeAn. Yeah, we’ll, that’s what it SAYS |
How would it work if a woman received an abortion in a state where it is legal? Would there be a warrant for her arrest in Republican states? If her plane had to make an emergency landing in Texas or Arkansas, would the state police arrest her on the tarmac? |
That was my read of it as well. |
