I will take off sick if I get Covid. Not putting my health or recovery at risk for work from home administrators.

No, you use your existing sick leave like has been the case for decades with every other illness

I'm on the verge of a panic attack right now. I've been in cancer treatment for the last year and have a zillion providers and some really expensive prescriptions. There is zero chance they are getting "significant cost savings" without the coverage being appreciably worse. I seriously want to cry. Everything was finally calming down and now I'm going to have to deal with this crap. They already can't hire enough staff for the salaries they offer, so hey, let's make the benefits worse! Genius.

This only makes sense when we also do away with the isolation policies. 5 days every time you have a mild cold, and every time your kids have a mild cold, adds up. And not all daycares are doing away with quarantines for exposures yet either.

Do you think that people are actually still isolating, even if testing positive? I don't.

Guarantee staffing issues will improve. No more COVID excuses. My kid’s teacher was ridiculous this year.

I’m so sorry! My situation isn’t the same as yours, but I’ve had three surgeries over the past 15 months for the same problem. My most recent surgery was just about three weeks ago. At this point, I’m seeing my surgeon every two weeks. This will move to every three weeks for awhile and then every weeks. This will continue for months. After receiving the change in healthcare email from MCPS tonight, I immediately checked my surgeon’s website and he doesn’t accept Cigna POS. I’m also on the verge of a panic attack. I hate MCPS!

And in the people who are out sick and not showing up for work. Like the ones that drive the school buses. But you don't need them, eh?

This. No more two week paid vacations for popping an asymptomatic positive test. Use sick leave like everyone else.

You mean no more hospitalizations to get out of work! COVID is surging again, hospitalizations just doubled. Not that FOX news told you. Why would they? More disabled folks home watching their channel is their dream.

How much vacation time do you think teachers get?

Hey, I dont know anything about the MCPS care first plan. But just wanted to let you know that I have a carefirst PPO gold plan thru Maryland Obamacare. I’m 46 and it costs me 535 a month with no subsidies. Honestly I havent had to use it yet much but it seems pretty good. It’s a nationwide network. I realize paying out of pocket for health insurance sucks but it might be worth it for you to check it out during open season.

There was an email from ERSC tonight. They're dropping CareFirst PPO and HMO as of 1/1/2023 and offering Cigna instead. It's just absurd timing. As if employees weren't stressed enough already, let's destabilize everyone's insurance situation. They noted that it will save them money, and also that most of us hopefully won't lose access to too many doctors. I'm sure they think that's reassuring.
